Nishama means soul. 'The rise of a soul.' The final mitzvah #613 is a good deed which can help tremendously a soul enter Gan Eden (Heaven) and/or move up in status. The Power of the Nishama

After HASHEM created Adam's body, HASHEM then blew into Adam's nostrils. The air from HASHEM's mouth is the soul AKA the Nishama. Of course, HASHEM isn't physical in any way, so this is just a way God explained to us, what the Nishama is. The Nishama's power is straight from God. No food required, No rest, No exercise, a completely spiritual creation, capable of reaching her source - God. There are those who chose to meditate in order to increase the souls power over the body, however the only way the soul can actually reach her peak, is by seeking God.
